The Motorcycle Riders Association of the ACT (MRA ACT) has proudly served as the voice for motorcyclists in our region since the 1970s. Established as a member-based, not-for-profit association, we emerged in response to the growing need for dedicated advocacy, safety promotion, and rider education on ACT roads.
As an independent representative organisation, we work effectively with ACT and federal governments, participating directly in policy development and decision-making that impacts all riders. Our formal recognition by these authorities ensures your voice is heard where it matters most.
The MRA ACT collaborates broadly with governments, riders, and other road users to achieve positive outcomes aimed at reducing incidents and fatalities. Our comprehensive approach to advocacy addresses the diverse needs of motorcycle owners and riders throughout the ACT region.
From securing lane filtering legislation to representing motorcyclists on environmental initiatives, we consistently champion the rights and interests of our community. Our strength comes from our members—passionate riders who recognise the power of collective representation.
Join us in shaping a safer, more inclusive riding environment for everyone on ACT roads.
As a member of the MRA ACT you have a voice that actively represents your motorcycling interests to the ACT Government, media, and community at large.
A voice that hosts road safety forums, participates in national driver awareness campaigns and attends inquests. It meets with relevant government minister’s and authorities to tackle issues such as motorcycle parking, road conditions, traffic safety and protecting riders from environmental hazards.
Be involved in events hosted by the MRA ACT and give your support to local charities like to annual Salvation Army ‘Blanket Drive’ and ‘Christmas Toy Run’.
Be part of a team, a sub-committee, or help when you can. Connect with like-minded local riders.
Come to our regular meetings (online or in-person) and support an organisation that has 50 years of continuous achievements in improving our motorcycle rider and road safety conditions in the ACT.
Any adult who supports the aims of the MRA ACT is eligible for membership — ‘Member’.
Any legally recognised couple or single parent, and their children who are less than 18 years of age, who support the aims of the MRA ACT is eligible for family membership — ‘Family Member’.
Corporations, companies, and SMEs who contribute to supporting the MRA ACT are eligible for corporate membership.
Corporate membership packages are offered to entities who provide financial and in-kind support that enables us to continually advocate for safe motorcycling in the ACT.
